Kovalam in Lockdown – Hardship Fund

In common with the rest of India, Kovalam is, of course, in lockdown which has brought considerable hardship to the village which relies on fishing for its livelihood. We have been very concerned about their welfare but, thanks to donations we have received from Venkat Trust supporters, we have been able to arrange for 2000 of the most needy families to receive 10 kgs of rice, a lifeline for them. JR expects the lockdown to continue for several weeks so more rice and other help will be desperately needed.

If you feel able to help, contributions to the Venkat Trust Coronavirus Hardship Fund would be very gratefully received and will ensure that our village is kept safe and well until happier times return. Donations can be made online (Venkat Trust, 40-24-10, 11349406, reference Hardship Fund), via our website (http://venkattrust.org.uk/how-you-can-help/make-a-donation), or by cheque to 12 Westbourne Gardens, Hove BN3 5PP. Thank you very much for any help you are able to give us at this very difficult time.
